Leighton Jones is a British theatre composer and performer based in West Yorkshire. Mentored by Belize born British composer Errollyn Wallen, he completed a Masters of Music (composition and performance) at Leeds College of Music in 2017.
Recent work includes a commission from The Royal Opera House in 2024 to compose new work in collaboration with their Youth Opera Chorus for the ‘Making Opera for Younger Audiences’ programme. In 2023, he composed four new choral works for Huddersfield’s Proper Job Theatre and their critically acclaimed immersive theatre production of 'Beowulf', with libretto by Ian McMillan (The Bard of Barnsley) and Leeds poet Michelle Scally Clarke.
